7 hacks to improve your YouTube experience

// August 10th, 2010 // View Comments // Uncategorized

YouTube users upload 20 hours of video each minute which translates to an equivalent of about 130K full length films per week. Despite 2 billion daily views, that’s still a lot of virtual film reels to wade through for consumers. Fortunately, geniuses create hacks and tools to improve our YouTube experience.

  • Want to watch every single music video of your favorite artist in one search and click? YouTube Disco is for you.
  • Want to share the funniest forty-five seconds of a not entirely funny ten minute long video? Visit Tubechop.
  • Don’t want the hassle of clicking through all of your subscribed videos? Then get YouTube Leanback.

Do you suffer from SMES: Social Media Entitlement Syndrome?

// June 25th, 2010 // View Comments // Uncategorized

SMES is global! To see if you suffer from Social Media Entitlement Syndrome, take a look at a few of the symptoms:

  1. Feeling and behaving as if one should be granted certain privileges (event access, free products, job offers) because he/she is well-known in social media.
  2. Expecting all-access to an individual’s private life because he/she occasionally posts personal items in social networks.
  3. Acting like it’s acceptable and normal to piss (bombard w/comments, tweets, DMs) on someone’s social stream.
  4. Demanding that people retweet your content, and resenting them if they don’t.
  5. Assuming that because you correspond with someone via social media, you should be invited to every social gathering that person plans or is involved with.

Don’t worry, while SMES is contagious, there is a simple cure: Knock it off!

Smart clothes senses your moods, provides comfort

// June 9th, 2010 // View Comments // Uncategorized

Fitted with wireless sensors that monitor things like temperature and heart rate, smart clothes transmit information to a database that analyzes a person’s emotional state. Through built in speakers and LED displays, the clothes then provide comfort and support to the wearer.

Soon your clothes will tell you if your butt looks big in that outfit or that you look fabulous today! Maybe Mark Zuckerberg was a beta tester for Wearable Absence’s hoodie prototype during his interview at D8?
